About the Role

As a BCT Machine Operator 1, you'll help produce the blood collection tubes (BCT) that laboratories around the world rely on. You'll operate and monitor labeling equipment, inspect materials, and perform quality checks — all while following documented work instructions in a regulated manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on production role suited to someone who takes pride in precision, consistency, and following procedure exactly as written.

What You'll Do

  • Operate BCT labeling equipment and make adjustments during production runs
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
  • Inspect and verify component materials before use
  • Package finished product according to work instructions
  • Pull, identify, store, and deliver samples and documentation as required
  • Perform quality checks to confirm product meets specifications
  • Follow established Quality Systems, documentation practices, and all FDA/ISO regulations
  • Report equipment, process, or personnel issues to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma, GED, or demonstrated success in a related role
  • Strong dependability, organization, and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
  • Comfort using basic computer applications for inventory management, data entry, and training
  • Ability to safely operate a pallet jack to move loaded pallets
  • Willingness to learn automated equipment operation and basic troubleshooting

Work Environment

You'll work in a climate-controlled biological/chemical laboratory setting, with occasional short exposure to cold temperatures in walk-in coolers. The role requires wearing clean-room clothing and protective equipment (lab coats, hair/beard covers, masks, gloves, and/or face shields) for up to two and a half hours at a time. This role involves standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally, and similar physical activity. Travel is minimal (up to 0%, with rare exceptions).
