Industrial Maintenance Technician
Who We Are
Streck is a biomedical manufacturer specializing in cell stabilization technologies, hematology quality control products, and molecular diagnostics. Our products support laboratories and healthcare providers around the world, and every role here — including on our facilities and maintenance team — plays a part in keeping that mission running smoothly.
About the Role
As a Building Engineer 1, you'll help keep our facility, equipment, and grounds running safely and reliably. You'll work alongside the Facilities Manager to maintain the physical plant, production equipment, and building systems that our manufacturing and lab teams depend on every day. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety — one day you might be troubleshooting a PLC-controlled system, the next repairing HVAC components or assisting with a new equipment installation.
What You'll Do
- Inspect, adjust, and repair production equipment such as autoclaves, centrifuges, pumps, boilers, and filler/capper and labeling equipment.
- Maintain and repair physical plant machinery, heating and cooling systems, piping, and electrical systems, and document maintenance performed.
- Support the installation of new automation and production equipment.
- Perform periodic checks on the production water system and HVAC filters, and flag issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Inspect, test, and maintain fire equipment, alarms, switches, and sensors.
- Repair and adjust HVAC components, including filter replacement.
- Construct and repair building structures — walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, and furniture.
- Maintain grounds, including lawn and landscaping care and snow removal.
- Serve as backup for the operation and maintenance of the building's security system.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical school training or 2-3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, gearboxes, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) — HVAC controls, building management/monitoring platforms, or similar automated facility systems — is a strong plus.
- Willingness and availability to be on-call.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, dependability, and the ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
Work Environment
This role includes both indoor and outdoor work, exposure to varying weather and occasional cold temperatures, and proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and elevated work areas. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role. Physical demands include exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently, along with standing, walking, lifting, and reaching throughout the shift.
